Gulf lubricated and liveried Aston Martins take first and second places in LM GTE Am category and 3rd in LM GTE Pro class.
The first round of the World Endurance Championship at Silverstone certainly lived up to its endurance billing. Though much of the race was rain free, the weather worsened as the afternoon went on and the race was red flagged because the conditions became too dangerous with some 25 minutes of the six hours still to run – and the results were called at that stage.
In LM GTE Am, the all-Danish crewed 95 car has of Nicki Thiim, Kristian Poulsen and David Heinemeier-Hansson took a hard fought victory, followed home by the sister 98 car of Christoffer Nygaard, Paul Dalla Lana and Pedro Lamy in an incredibly competitive class.
Darren Turner and Stefan Mücke, in the 97 car came home to an excellent podium place, finishing third in class, while the 99 car of Alex Macdowell, Darryl O’ Young and Fernando Rees finished seventh.
