Gulf-branded Oasis Services, located in Hull, created plenty of noise across East Yorkshire as it utilised Gulf’s ‘official partner’ status with McLaren and its F1 programme to offer a VIP trip to the recent British Grand Prix at Silverstone.

The month-long promotion, culminating with a 2- day on-site appearance of a McLaren F1 racing car, was designed to drive up sales of Gulf’s premium fuel grade Endurance, raise awareness for the sites nominated charities and encourage customers to engage with Gulf’s Oomph forecourt loyalty platform.

“ We have seen huge interest and a real buzz generated by the McLaren F1 link,” enthuses Gerry Welsh, Retail Marketing Manager, Certas Energy. “Gulf’s tie-up with McLaren has been a success story on and off the track and we were delighted to have been able to support Malcolm and Oliver Blake at Oasis with a topical and very effective forecourt sales promotion.”

The promotion, which included a 10ppl discount off Endurance fuels, was supported by onsite promotional point of sale and extensive social media activity.

British racing driver Lando Norris led the charge at Silverstone for the Gulf-sponsored McLaren F1 team whose two cars finished in 4th and 5th place, a highly creditable achievement that moved Norris up into third place overall in the 2021 driver standings.
