SuperStation 2013, Certas Energy’s award-winning forecourt standards competition, reached its exciting climax during late October at The Belfry with an evening of glitz, glamour and celebration. Dealers from across the UK gathered for the Gala Awards Dinner.
Open to all Certas Energy-supplied independent petrol retailers, the finalists were selected following judging by the event sponsors and Certas Energy’s management team and were announced in true Hollywood style at the celebrated Ryder Cup venue, one of the UK’s leading leisure resorts.

Commenting on Chapel Garage’s win in the Best Certas Energy Site category, Lyndon Cook, who runs the family business, said: “We were shortlisted last year; to go that step further and win the award this year is terrific. We are incredibly proud of our site standards, with all areas kept spotlessly clean and tidy, creating a retailing environment which is attractive and very customer friendly. In addition, the personable, knowledgeable approach of our staff encourages our customers to return time and time again. So I thank all of my staff for their part in winning this award and also to encourage them to keep up the hard work so we can take the title again next year!”
Best Forecourt Assistant Carol Wood adds: “I’m totally gobsmacked to win the award. I didn’t expect to win but now I have, I’m thrilled. It’s thanks to the whole team at Lindisfarne that I was selected so I’m grateful to them all for their support. It’s wonderful to be recognised for doing my job which I thoroughly enjoy.”
“To receive a SuperStation award is a mark of quality and professionalism,” explains Ramsay MacDonald, Retail Director, Certas Energy. “There is a tough selection process, so the three sites selected in each category really stood out from the competition.”
“This is just the second year the Awards have been running and already we are seeing a marked improvement across our sites based on the feedback and support we’ve provided throughout the past year. This is a standards competition and we will continue to drive for continued improvement year upon year.”
