Celebrating International Dog Day with Pickles
For International Dog Day, we’re celebrating one of Gulf’s very own unofficial mascots – Pickles the greyhound from Ballinluig Services.

Alongside fuel, a well-stocked shop, Costa Express, free overnight HGV parking, and the recently refurbished Ballinluig Motorgrill, visitors may be greeted by Pickles the Spanish greyhound. The trusty service station pup always looks the part – and is popular with customers.
Service station dubbed ‘friendliest in Scotland’
Family-run Gulf service station, Ballinluig Services near Pitlochry, has been shortlisted in the best customer service category at the Forecourt Trader 2026 Awards. Founded in 1970 by Clive Bridges, the station is now under the leadership of his daughter Claire – who prides herself on creating an exceptional experience for locals and motorists. We’re sure Pickles has played a big part in that too!
