Over £40,000 now donated by Gulf Oomph Platform

Tyne and Wear HSG football team, nominated by Gulf Ridgeway Garage in Northumbria.

As grass roots organisations and local charities struggled for funding during the pandemic, Oomph, Gulf Retails award-winning forecourt loyalty platform gave out over £40,000 to grass root organisations across the UK. Some of the recipients explained their thanks below.

The Isle of Wight’s Mountbatten Hospice is one such recipient, nominated by Northwood Garage in Cowes. It recently received a cheque for £1,000, presented by forecourt manager Ben Maher, which was their second win this year!

“Thank you, once again, for the support from Northwood Garage and Gulf,” explains Mountbatten CEO, Nigel Hartley.  “We are incredibly grateful to benefit from this scheme and the money will really help us in our efforts to ensure everyone on the Isle of Wight facing death, dying and bereavement will get access to our expert care, support and kindness.”

In County Durham, Hazel Coulthard, Chair of Chilton Academy Friends said “Chilton Academy Friends are overjoyed to be receiving this £1000 as in this last year we have been unable to fundraise due to Covid. We hope to deliver a community pantomime for our pupils during the Christmas period. The Friends and the pupils of Chilton Academy would like to say a big Thank you to Marie Brown for nominating us in to the draw.”

Other recent beneficiaries include Bringing Back a Smile, Coatbridge Thistle FC for the second time this year and in Northumbria, Tyne and Wear HSG, Paul Kirton, team coach said: ““Wow, I still can’t believe we’ve been so lucky, the garage I go into everyday put my football team forward a few months ago and I had forgotten about it. When I went to the garage yesterday and they told me our team would receive £1000 I thought it was a wind up. This will go so far to help a grassroots football team and I am so grateful to the staff for putting us forward and Gulf for running the competition”.

Forging close and meaningful links with good local causes and grass root organisations is just one element of the highly versatile Oomph platform that also includes big ticket monthly prizes, large savings on fuel and shop purchases and Major brand discount offers. In addition, participating customers can now enjoy free online educational courses across a wide variety of subjects along with POWR, an evidence based digital well-being tool that promotes health, reduces stress and improves contentment.
